A greenery tapestry or simply greenery is, in the language of tapestry, a hanging whose decoration is mainly plant-based (such as trees, foliage, etc.) Animals, common, exotic or fantastic, can populate this decoration: birds and forest animals. The hunting scenes, despite the significant plant decoration, do not fall into the category of greenery. The Green Tapestry was very popular at the end of the Middle Ages and again in the 16th century. The greenery was woven in numerous workshops in Flanders such as the town of Oudenaarde in Belgium or Aubusson in France where we find the Royal d'Aubusson factory which has woven the most famous tapestries in the world.
