Alberto Guzman was born in Peru in 1927 and died in France in 2017. This brooch can also be worn as a pendant.
18-carat gold, concave shape decorated with a multitude of small hammered movable clusters. Handwritten signature engraved on the back.
A Parisian sculptor of Peruvian origin, Alberto Guzman moved to Paris thanks to a scholarship offered by France in 1960 and exhibited his works at various biennials across Europe. Alongside his work as a sculptor, as evidenced by several monumental works for the city, as well as fountains, he also created jewelry, furniture, and theater sets. He miniaturized his monumental sculptural forms into gold and silver jewelry. Always unique, his jewelry is a theater of light and ambiguous reflections, achieved by hammering gold, patinating bronze, or polishing stones.
