In ink and polychrome pigments on gold leaf, it depicts a pair of pheasants under a pine tree and gray wagtails perched on rocks near a stream.
The first three panels from the right feature the "three friends of winter"—pine, plum, and bamboo, symbolically important in Japan—as well as a bouquet of peonies. In very good condition.
A red lacquer seal is on the first right panel.
