Camel driver by the river- Longsden Long (1829-1891)

This Orientalist painting is signed L Long, known as Lieutenant Long.

Some historians believe that it is Edwin Longsden Long (1829-1891), a British painter.

A member of the Royal Academy, he is best known for his portraits, biblical scenes, and Orientalist works inspired by his travels in Spain, Egypt, and Syria.

His style is realistic and detailed, capturing everyday life and oriental architecture with an academic touch.

Today, his works continue to be sold at auction and bear witness to the Victorian fascination with the exotic Orient.
