Unusual high stool with retractable footboard in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer. It rests on lotiform feet. The double-baluster base is connected by an H-shaped brace. This type is also known as a “box stool”.

Balny Jeune

Balny Jeune, whose first name is Pierre-Marie, is based on rue de Charenton. Together with his wife, he employs many workers. He made many fine mahogany seats, as well as a small number in gilded wood.

Condition report: stamped varnish in good condition, original seat covered with embossed silk velvet by Bonvallet.
