?The high carat gold band is decorated with black enamelled foliate engraving and set with a table cut rock crystal compartment which contains the hair of the deceased. The inside of the band is engraved ‘Capt(ian). G Squrritt ob Jan 1724’ and the makers mark ‘ce’.
