Paul Bonifas – Two Art-deco Glazed Earthenware Candelabras

Rare pair of modernists candelabras in glazed earthenware by Paul Bonifas (1893-1967) circa 1930. Bonifas met Le Corbusier and Ozenfant in Paris at the beginning of the twenties, back to Geneva he made "purists" ceramics in his studio in Ferney-Voltaire (France). He is famous for his monochromatic pieces especially black ones named "terre lustrée noire". After WWII Bonifas went to U.S.A. to teach ceramic.
