This pair of hand-carved wood and gilded leaf lamps evokes the large, leafy lamps that furnished a Riyadh palace designed by Maria Pergay (fig. 1).
These lamps form a coherent ensemble with the pair of lacquered corner pieces and the three "Gondole" seats also designed by Maria Pergay (see nos. 50 & 47).
