The "China Chairs" are representative of the lightness, elegance as well as functionality that Hans Wegner, like no other, knew how to unite in his pieces of furniture. Driven by the desire to design the one perfect chair, Wegner advanced to become one of the most experimental as well as productive furniture designers of the 20th century.
As "king of chairs" and representative of organic modernism, Wegner presents us not only an everyday object, but the union of the geometric with the organic in its pure form. Wegner's work is absolute poetry made of wood.
