Silver water pot by J.P Charpenat, Crown supplier

Rare solid silver baluster-shaped water pot with lateral handle and slightly molded neck, standing on a foot.

Under the bottom and inside the foot.
the goldsmith's hallmark: JCP, a crescent, two grains of medicine on either side of a fleur-de-lys surmounted by a crown.
Jean Pierre Charpenat was born in Paris in 1782. He died in 1806.

Each part, neck, handle and foot, carries the recency of small objects : the crab.

Very good condition.

Jean-Pierre Charpenat, supplier to the Crown, made the famous travel set for Queen Marie Antoinette and a replica for her sister Marie-Christine de Hasbourg-Lorraine, Archduchess of Austria.
