Howling at the Moon! Wolfdog roof tile (China, Ming 1368-1644) to scare off evil spirits. Different shades of green: from gorgeous deep dark moss to yellowish. Weathered (how would you be after a few centuries on a roof?) and bruised but still going strong. Fascinating resemblances with European romanesque bestiary (chimera, gargoyle etc). This werewolf is looking for a new home... On an interesting early 20th century wooden stand that mimics how the beast would have looked like on the rounded support of the top and corner roof sections. Dimensions: 27x11x10cm.
