Pair Of Landscape Veduttes, Probably Veneto, Early 19th Century

The landscapes represented are those of northern Italy, of different genres. One of the paintings shows a view into a deep, tree-lined gorge at the bottom of which is a waterfall. A group of figures admiring the waterfall stand on a rocky promontory. The other painting opens the view on a landscape of hills, delimited on the left by an imposing oak tree. In the foreground sits a Palladian-style villa with its outbuildings and garden. The landscape opens onto a slightly curved plain. Both paintings are presented in their original gilt frame.
