Peter Behrens worked in Karlsruhe and Düsseldorf, as well as in Munich, where he was one of the leading artists of the Art Nouveau movement. Among other things, he is considered one of the pioneers of the industrial design.
The Kiss, icon of art nouveau, is one of the artist's most famous works and fully embodies the fin de siècle spirit.
