Our painting is stylistically similar to a small tondo oil on canvas produced by Élisabeth Louis Vigée-Lebrun, unfortunately undated. This same artist also produced with the same verve a large portrait (105.5 x 83 cm) of the Polish prince Henryk Lubomirski, a child aged nine and depicted as a love interest (1787-1788) whose style and subject are to be compared to ours.
