Charles X blue opaline cup

Cup in the shape of a basket in opal crystal known as “linen blue” also known as “bleu empois”. This blown opal crystal is obtained by adding cobalt oxide. The crystal is enhanced with stylized scallop motifs painted in gold and applied to the collar. This crystal is set in gilded bronze setting. This frame includes a twisted handle representing two intertwined snakes. The fastening system is decorated with a flower motif.
