Pendule “Au Negre” with candelabra

Direttorio period clock, in patinated bronze and gilded bronze, depicting a small Negro who carries on the head, resting on a cushion, a circular case containing the mechanism. The preparatory drawing of this pendulum was deposited in 1799, at the National Library of Paris, by the Parisian bronze artist Jean Simon DEVERBERIE: Often this pendulum is paired with two candlesticks with the same figures as negroes. The dial bears the inscription: CHOPIN à Paris. France. Dimensions: HxL 44x19 cm.
