This Japanese planter reflects the new influences from the Far East that have affected ceramists since the second half of the 19th century. The Collinot & Cie factory is part of this real search of monumentality that is visible at World's Fairs and that pushes the material to the limits of its possibilities.
The particularity of this work is the aubergine background color, which allows pink flowers, green leaves and figures of birds and butterflies to stand out from the composition. In addition, a turquoise border on the collar highlights the entire work, while giving it a Persian touch. The originality of this vase lies in its curved shape, as a blooming flower.
