The "Champagne" vase was created by René Lalique, model no. 1004, on 8 December 1927. One of Lalique's most daring Art Deco geometric creations, this vase features a rounded body composed of large hemispherical lobes alternating with sharply faceted projections, creating a striking sculptural effect from every angle.
This example is made in grey (topaz) tinted glass, which magnificently enhances the depth and volumes of the design. Its subtle smoky grey hue and thick double-layered glass structure bear witness to Lalique's mastery of light, texture and modernist design.
