Armorial solid silver flatware set – Pierre François Queillé (1834–1846)

Solid silver flatware set, double-thread shaped pattern, comprising 18 large forks (length: 20.9 cm), 18 large spoons (length: 21.3 cm), 18 dessert forks (length: 18.1 cm), and 18 dessert spoons (length: 18.6 cm).
All pieces bear the Minerva head hallmark for 950/1000 silver and the silversmith’s mark P Q for Pierre François Queillé (1834–1846).
All the pieces also bear a finely chased coat of arms on the handle, in the form of a shield surmounted by a helmet and leafy scrolls.
This very fine ensemble is presented in its original fitted case, compartmented and lined with red-dyed leather. The exterior of the case is covered with black coated canvas, with a brass clasp and handle monogrammed RJ. The case opens and closes perfectly.
Louis-Philippe period, first half of the 19th century.
