A rare Baccarat crystal vase adorned with motifs inspired by traditional Lorraine folktales: thistles, the region’s emblem; the Graoully, the famous dragon from 19th-century Metz legends; as well as hazel branches and insects. In Lorraine folklore, the hazel tree and magical hazelnuts are recurring elements associated with dragons and used to ward off evil creatures. The engraving is exquisitely refined and rich in detail. The vase rests on a bronze base marked “Baccarat.” Height: 28 cm
