Meissen - Porcelain Figurine “the Dancer Loïe Fuller”

Art Nouveau figurine in Meissen porcelain depicting the dancer Loïe Fuller (Tänzerin Loie Fuller). Designed by Theodor Eichler in 1911, inspired by the “Serpentine” dance, a choreography created by the dancer herself. Coming from the world of vaudeville, Loïe Fuller was one of the first artists to use stage effects (thanks to electric lighting) as an integral part of choreography, and to have brought together pure movement and technique without any narrative purpose. Marked with crossed blue swords and numbered B255. In perfect condition. Reproduced in the Meissen catalog - Bergmann Loïe Fuller (1862 Fullersburg, Illinois – 1928 Paris) An artist active in Paris beginning in 1892; she founded her own theater and dance school there in 1900.
