Elegant eight-light Empire-style chandelier in patinated and gilded bronze, composed of a broad patinated bronze band bordered along the upper edge with an egg-and-dart frieze and along the lower edge with a torus molding. It is surmounted by braided wreaths intertwining flowers and laurel leaves, centered by a palmette motif and resting on crossed fasces. The surface of the band is animated by symmetrical scrolling foliage framing blooming rosettes, while pleated and rolled ribbons encircle lion heads surmounted by swans, which serve as the anchoring points for the light arms. The eight light-arms are shaped as trumpets adorned with acanthus leaves and terminate in circular drip pans with leaf friezes, above flared candle sockets finely chased with palmette motifs.
The chandelier is suspended by four rigid rods ornamented with oval medallions depicting the god Mercury, converging at a ceiling canopy decorated with flared palmettes. Suspended beneath the main band by four chains with geometric links, the lower finial takes the form of an antique vase surmounted by a basket of fruit and flowers, and culminates in a large foliate terminal ending in a stylized pine cone.
