Small Louis XVI salon table with dressing table top stamped Dester

Small salon table with three drawers, one of which forms a writing surface, inlaid with a four-leaf lattice pattern in sycamore and lemonwood, with tapered legs, a crossbar and a mirror panel.

Provenance: An identical table is held at the Cognacq-Jay Museum; it is therefore likely that our table is the one sold in Paris on 15 November 1983 by Maîtres Ader, Picard, Tajan, illustrated on p. 298 of *Le Mobilier Français du XVIIIème siècle, dictionnaire des ébénistes et des menuisiers* by Pierre Kjellberg, published by Les éditions de l’amateur.
