An elegant example of Viennese Jugendstil glass artistry, this vase was produced by Johann Loetz Witwe around 1901 and features the rare and highly decorative Cytisus Neuroth pattern. The iridescent glass body, with its flowing, organic marbling in warm amber and deep violet tones, reflects Loetz’s mastery in achieving both movement and depth through complex surface treatments.
The piece is further elevated by its finely crafted metal mounting, executed by Argentor-Werke Rust & Hetzel, Vienna, whose refined, geometric ornament forms a striking contrast to the fluidity of the glass. This harmonious interplay between material and design exemplifies the collaborative spirit of the Viennese Secession period.
