Swiss moneychanger’s table, 17th century

This Swiss table is made of walnut and walnut veneer. It stands on four turned legs joined by a turned stretcher. It features a frieze drawer, and the top is inlaid with geometric motifs around the perimeter, while the centre consists of a slate panel. The ends of the feet, beneath the stretcher, take the form of small flattened spheres.

In overall good condition, the top shows some wear to the veneer as well as a few minor losses to the stringing and decorative motifs.

Dimensions: height 83 cm; top 98 cm × 62 cm.
