Mahogany and gilded bronze mercury barometer

Paris, circa 1820-30
Large mercury barometer, based on Torricelli's design. Slender in shape, made of flamed mahogany, it is decorated with gilded bronze friezes, knurled and openwork in the lower part. The calibrated brass plate is engraved with the company name “Haring./Optician to His Majesty the King of Württemberg/Royal Palace No. 63.”
Haring is listed in trade almanacs during the Restoration and the July Monarchy. He is known for his thermometers, barometers, lorgnettes, spyglasses, compass cases, etc.

Condition report: excellent condition, still filled, the bronze parts show very slight wear, French polish in excellent condition
