Offered by Frédéric Brossy
Pair of carved and giltwood stools in the Louis XIV style.
Second half of the 19th century.
An X-shaped stretcher connects the sheath-form legs, finely carved with scrolls, acanthus leaves, and cartouches. The foot blocks are decorated with fleurs-de-lys. The seats are upholstered in an antique Savonnerie tapestry.
Very good condition.
This 19th-century model faithfully reproduces those found at the Château de Versailles during the reign of Louis XIV.
