Large Louis XV Oval Carved and Giltwood Frame, 18th Century

Large oval frame in carved wood, gilded with gold leaf, decorated with palmettes, flowers, and foliage. The frame is assembled with wooden dowels. It retains its original gilding, with some losses to a shell motif and floral elements. Cracks due to the natural movement of the wood are visible but do not affect the structural stability of the frame.
