Emile Gallé – Set of nesting tables "The Four Seasons" Art Nouveau

Superb set of four nesting tables in solid walnut. The tops feature marquetry decorations illustrating the four seasons: spring on the first, decorated with daffodils and butterflies in flight; summer on the second, decorated with a stork; autumn on the third, decorated with swirling leaves; winter on the last, decorated with snow-covered thistles. They rest on a base with a ribbed, openwork and carved stretcher adorned with foliage, signature on each top. Magnificent quality of marquetry and carving, with a very fine waxed finish.
