Fidelis of Sigmaringen, born Mark Roy or Reyd, was a German Capuchin missionary active in the Protestant regions of Central Europe. He was attacked and killed during an anti-Austrian uprising in Switzerland. Beatified as a martyr in 1729, he was proclaimed a saint by Pope Benedict XIV in 1746.
