Lute-shaped hurdy-gurdy by Pimpard Cousin fils made in Jenzat (Allier) around 1900 and bearing his label and brand. Jenzat is the world capital of hurdy-gurdy making. Since 1795, around 40,000 hurdy-gurdies have been made in the village. 25 families who lived in Jenzat made these instruments. Hurdy-gurdy in used condition, strings to be redone. A crack on the back (restored) and some missing parts. Polychromy on the back, inlaid wheel cover, as well as the tailpiece and keyboard cover.
