Porcelain plate decorated in famille rose enamels, in the centre with the coat of arms of Philibert Orry, Controller General of Finances then Director of the King's Buildings in 1737. The coat of arms is framed by a richly decorated rocaille cartouche. The wing decorated with elegant Regency motifs.
YONGZHENG period (1723-1736)
This piece belongs to a very small number of armorial services commissioned in China by French personalities during the Yongzheng reign. A similar example, kept at the Musée de la Compagnie des Indes in Lorient, was presented at the exhibition China at Versailles in 2014 (cat. no. 32 & 33), alongside the service commissioned for Louis XV.
