HAMILTON & INCHES – EDINBURGH
Founded in 1866 by James Hamilton and Sir Robert Kirk Inches, Hamilton & Inches quickly rose to become one of the foremost names in Scottish silversmithing and jewellery. In 1880, the company was granted the prestigious Royal Warrant as silversmiths to the Scottish Court – an honour it continues to hold today, including under the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

Based on George Street in Edinburgh, the firm is renowned for its handcrafted silver objects, fine jewellery, luxury watches, and ceremonial pieces such as cups, insignia and trophies – often commissioned by universities, the military or the Royal Family. Its style combines classic British elegance with masterful artisanal techniques.

From 1992 to 1998, Hamilton & Inches was part of the luxury group Asprey of London, before returning to independent ownership. Today, the house continues its legacy of excellence, blending heritage craftsmanship with contemporary design from its historic Edinburgh workshops.
