18th century engine-turned gold snuff-box.

Oval gold box with hinged lid. The snuffbox is entirely guilloché with diagonal bands alternating between fine wavelets and fish scale motifs. This geometric design continues uninterrupted between the lower part and the lid of the snuffbox, giving an effect of continuity and homogeneity. Work from the second half of the 18th century.
Master goldsmith's mark erased with its crown flanked by two identical signs (circle and sunburst). Engraved numeral: 241. Probably Hanau
