A rare vase by Emile Gallé in the form of a brush pot with an acid-etched decoration of an octopus against a sea background with acid-etched seaweed. The surface is fire-polished and oxides and intercalary powders are found under the decoration, giving an irregular effect in the glass and variations in colour. Signature in the decoration ‘Gallé’ in a vegetal style. Artistic work circa 1900. Rare model. Perfect condition. Art Nouveau period
