Boin-Taburet Paris - Large gilt sterling silver bowl

An important solid silver chased and gilt drinking cup by BOIN-TABURET in Paris.
The upper part of the bowl is decorated with cartouches alternating with garlands of flowers and foliage on an amati background of high quality chasing.
A chased band runs along the lower third of the bowl, which rests on a moulded pedestal decorated with a finely chased frieze of oves and interlacing.

Condition report :
Some superficial wear of time to the vermeil at the raised parts providing an interesting contrast but very fine condition and quality of the gilding.

Uncommon size and finesse of workmanship for this superb and rare piece by one of the most talented silversmiths of its period.
