Consulat-period oil and vinegar cruet in vermeil (gilded solid silver). Beautiful Egyptian-style decoration with gryphons, on an openwork terrace.
The use of the 1er coq hallmark reduces the manufacturing period to 1798-1809, and the LGL goldsmith's hallmark has not been identified at this stage of our research.
Our oil and vinegar cruet is a fine example of the refined silverware of the late 18th / early 19th century. It is a fine collector's item, all the more rare as it is in vermeil. It is matched by the two bottles - huilier and vinaigrier - in early 19th-century Creusot crystal, with their stoppers.
All in excellent condition, no dents or missing decoration, perfect bottles.
