Metal-plated saupoudroir, 18th century

This beautiful baluster-shaped saupoudroir is made of plated metal and rests on a doucine and gadrooned pedestal. The lower part is adorned with lambrequin falls alternating with stylized motifs, while the molded-rim lid opens with a bayonet, is pierced with lattice motifs and ends with a knob. A coat of arms featuring birds and fleurs-de-lis is engraved on the belly, beneath a comtal crown and flanked on either side by an upright lion. This sugar bowl is in excellent condition, although the original silver plating is worn in several places.
First half of the 18th century.
Height 21 cm.
