Suite of 4 "à la Reine" armchairs from the Louis XV period

Beautiful suite of 4 Louis XV armchairs "à la Reine" in light gray lacquered wood.

Resting on 4 arched legs joined by a sinuous belt, they offer a wide and deep seat.

The recessed armrests have a beautiful arch called "whiplash", elegantly pronounced. The flat back, also pleasantly designed, is decorated with a sculpture of foliage and flowers in the upper crossbar, reminiscent of that of the seat crossbar.

They are covered with an old petit point trim which deserves to be reworked by an upholsterer. The seat structure is stable and in very good condition.

French work, probably Parisian from the Louis XV period of the mid-18th century.
