A pair of French tripod telescopic partly patinated brass small gueridons , the circular tops in grey Saint Anne marble , made by the famous Maison Toulouse in Paris for collector and socialite Arturo Lopez-Willshaw in 1948 for his suite at Hotel Meurice , Paris.
These gueridons appear on a watercolour by Alexandre Serebriakoff dated 1948 and showing the salon of Mr Lopez-Willshaw and of Baron de Redé at Hotel Meurice and also on a watercolour by the same artist dated 1949 and showing the library at Hotel Lambert , just finished by Georges Geffroy.
Provenance : Collection of the late Madame Lopez-Willshaw.
