Hervé WAHLEN (Born in 1957) - Coupe

Articulated copperware form-sculpture, gilded and partially covered with a light and dark brown shades patina which underlines its refined design. At the crossroads of different genres, between sculpture and object of art, ‘Coupe’ works like a precious casket, which secret is linked to an ingeniously concealed mechanism. When sliding, the two parts forming this piece, reveal a secret cavity per part covered in white gold leaf, the first one with a rectangular shape and the second in a free shape. The beauty of the shapes and materials combined to an extreme simplicity and a great originality are characteristic of Hervé Wahlen’s work.
