A Louis XVI ormolu mounted mahogany secrétaire à abattant attributed to Bernard Molitor.
Louis XVI, last quarter 18th century.
The white marble top surrounded by a pierced three-quarter gallery, above a frieze drawer and a panelled fall front enclosing a fitted interior adorned with two brass obelisks, à leather-lined writing surface, nine variously-sized drawers, two secret drawers secure by a mechanism, and an opened compartment, above a pair of panelled doors, flanked by brass inlaid fluted columns, on rounded tapering legs and toupie feet.
