Offered by Galerie Lassus
Eighteenth-century silver tray, circular shape with six contours and slightly raised edges. Pinched filet pattern.
This type of tray is rare to find, and should not be confused with serving dishes, which are available in large numbers.
We don't know the exact use of these trays, but they were certainly used to bring exotic drinks to guests, or for mail.
Good weight and well inscribed.
Place: BORDEAUX 1744-1745.
Master Goldsmith: Stamped with a horse on the rim, most probably Gabriel Faurie.
Discharge on the rim: snake under a crown erased.
Diameter: 28.3 cm - Height: 1.8 cm
Weight : 600 gr.
