PRESENTATION GALLERY : Galerie Arnaud Tellier
Paintings, drawings, miniatures and sculptures of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries
Swiss and French schools, specialized in Leman and surrounding mountains painters
Arnaud Tellier Art Gallery was founded in Geneva in September 2012. Then it established on the Vaudoise coast, in Morges from June 2013 to October 2016, before moving to Saint-Prex in November 2016.
The gallery displays mainly artists who painted in the Leman area (Geneva lake) from the turn of the 19th century to the mid-20th century. This period which is particularly rich on a pictorial point of view saw the emergence of different artistic trends.
It is true that a lot of Swiss or foreign painters came there attracted by the peculiarity of the light of the lake or the splendour of the surrounding mountains.
A diversity of artistic movements ranging from academic art to abstraction, via impressionism and its avatars (post impressionism, neo-impressionism, etc.), symbolism, modern art (fauvism, cubism, futurism, etc.), has always been more or less present in Suisse romande. Today, most artists have lost recognition from the general public and are unjustly forgotten, an omission the gallery would like to rectify.
Beside paintings and drawings the gallery shows also sculptures as well as 18th and 19th centuries miniature portraits painted on ivory or enamel, one of the specialities of ancient Genevan art.
Careful consideration is given to the choice of the works (quality, state of conservation), to the restoration by qualified specialists and to the quality of framing (restoration of the original frame or new frame).
The gallery has a collection of several thousand books, to carry out study and research on the works displayed, publish catalogues or put online additional information on each of them (photos, descriptions, commentaries, biographies and bibliographies).
The gallery is also qualified to do valuations and brokerage transactions for Great Masters works.
