A Japanese ivory and Shibayama three-case inro in ivory and gold lacquer inlaid in the Shibayama technique with the use of mother-of-pearl of different shades, red coral and horn.
It depicts the encounter between Samurai Benkei and Yoshitsune, surrounded by cherry blossom trees with a frightened character fallen into the trees.
Ivory ojime.
