Fauteuil de bureau Epoque Louis XVI

Large Louis XVI period desk chair of gondola shape in molded, carved and lacquered beech. Darkened with cane, it is embellished with a havana leatherette. The whole, with harmonious lines and deep and delicate moldings, has a backrest crosspiece running to the armrests so that it seems to be continued all around the armchair. Its fluted brackets give the chair elegance and energy.

Width: 63 cm
Height: 84 cm and 43.5 cm at the seat
Depth: 60 cm overall.

Parisian work circa 1771 attributable to Nicolas-Jean Blanchard known as "the young" who was received as Master in 1771. He became one of the suppliers of the Palace of Versailles and quickly acquired a great reputation.
He always produced high quality seats with noble lines and a perfect finish. He stopped his activity before the Revolution but is still mentioned under the Directory.
