Earrings, mid 19th century

These lovely earrings are made of gold, they hang with a swan neck. Composed of two distinct elements, the first, smaller and circular in shape is set in the center of a garnet surrounded by a frieze of small leaves, the second is centered by a garnet surrounded by 6 small pearls, under the whole is a decoration of gold trimmings, whose swaying, will accompany with grace the movements of the one who will wear these pendants.
Garnet has the reputation of bringing vitality and energy to the wearer. It is a protective stone which is a symbol of truth, commitment and fidelity, it encourages to go forward, to fight against adversity and it brings prosperity. The pearl has always been the symbol of perfect and pure beauty, of love.
From the Napoleon III period, these jewels have the charm of old jewelry that combines grace and femininity, and the intensity of the red garnets offers a pleasant contrast to the yellow of the gold.
Swan neck clasp.
Eagle head hallmark.
Weight 5,5 grams.
Height 5,8 cm with the swan neck.
