On a lacquered wood background imitating elm burl, the decoration, in hira and taka maki-e gold, polychrome and mother-of-pearl, represents couples of cranes, sparrows, butterflies, lotuses, dragonflies and a large wisteria rising towards cottages with in the background, at the top of the panel, Mount Fuji and fishing boats.
