Stamped FG for François Garnier
François Garnier (died October 20, 1774) : Father of the famous Pierre Garnier, little is known of his output before the 1743 re-stamping requirement. He worked on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine throughout the reign of Louis XV. The few signed pieces of furniture that appear from time to time on the market testify to a real talent. He gave his fund to his son in 1754.
