Painted in black ink on paper (sumi-e) and gold powder, the artist (Yokoyama Kazan 1781-1837) describes, very finely and precisely, the serenity of a small mountain village where we can distinguish a few houses among the pines and shrubs at the foot of the mountain, a small bridge that spans the river and several characters including a fisherman. Signed on the lower part of the right leaf. Yokoyama Kazan (1781-1837) is a painter from Kyoto listed from the 10th to the 13th Bunsei year (1827-1830) in the Heian Jinshi his name is Yisho written with the character Shiro.
